Top Ten Tennis Female Players Who Marked 2015

Serena Williams

Serena Williams – Similar to Novak Djokovic, she was two matches short of completing all four slams, but Roberta Vinci stopped her in the US Open semifinal. However, Serena has managed to win three Grand Slams in a year for the second time in his career, the first time being in 2002, and claimed her domination in the women tennis world.

Simona Halep – Halep managed to win Indian Wells, which was her first Premier Mandatory title, and had a nice success in New York when she managed to break through into the semifinal.

Garbine Muguruza – Excellent year behind her, with playing Serena Williams in Wimbledon final and winning the China Open after defeating Timea Bacsinszky. Young Spaniard made in into top three for the first time.

Agnieszka Radwanska – She won the biggest trophy in her career, winning WTA Finals after defeating Petra Kvitova. She was also voted WTA Fan Favorite Player for the fifth year in a row.

Maria Sharapova – The Russian had a good year, playing his fourth Australian Open final and losing to Serena Williams. She also lost Fed Cup final with Russia, despite winning both of her matches.

 Angelique Kerber

Angelique Kerber – She won four WTA titles, which qualified her for top ten tennis female players in 2015 list, but a Grand Slam final is still a dream for her.

Petra Kvitova – She didn’t manage to win a Grand Slam like in 2014, but Kvitova made it to the quarter-finals of the US Open. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with mononucleosis in August.

Flavia Pennetta – She made her dream come true by winning US open, after defeating Roberta Vinci in the final. Penetta also made a career-high ranking and announced her retirement as one of top ten tennis female players in 2015.

Lucie Safarova – Excellent year for the Czech player, who made it to the Rolland Garros final, and even advanced to position No 5 in the rankings in September. Also won two Grand Slam titles in doubles.

Venus Williams – She started the year great by winning the tournament in Auckland and advancing to the quarter-final of the Australian Open, success she repeated on US Open. She re-entered top ten tennis female players in 2015.
