We have seen some truly great matches in 2015, a year that was dominated by Serbian Novak Djokovic. Although he won three of four Grand Slams and clinched the first position in the ATP ranking, his opponents made it as hard as possible for him. Let’s look at major tennis rivalries of 2015.
Novak Djokovic vs. Roger Federer – The Swiss is close to the retirement, but he plays as good as ever. However, Djokovic has proved to be better during 2015. They met on eight occasions, of which seven finals. Serbian won five of them, including winning in Wimbledon and US Open finals, as well as celebrating the win in the last match of the season – in ATP World Tour Finals. The most important win for Federer was the one on Cincinnati Masters when he stopped Djokovic from completing Career Golden Masters. Both players agree that their rivalry has developed greatly and look forward to their future matches.
