Ivan Lendl is among the most famous tennis players in the history of the game. He is considered as best ever tennis player because of his amazing win record, which is 82%. Lendl’s strongest skill was strength and top spin. He was popular for his running forehand. He was able to direct his powerful forehand from across the court as well as from down the line.

Lendl gained massive popularity and became a true tennis star from the beginning of his career. When he was playing at junior level, he won Wimbledon and US Open juniors.

He started playing professional tennis in 1978  but failed to win Grand Slam for first few years. However, Lendl’s wait came to an end in 1984 when he defeated John McEnroe to win French Open. He won US Open the next year, reached World No. 1 rank within the first few years of her career, and maintained it for long.

Ivan was at the top of his game during 1980s when he won French and US Open many times. His win percentage was at 90% and held it as record until Roger Federer equaled it. However, Ivan still holds the record to have 90% win record during different five years in his career. During these years, he won 10 titles out of 17. He also won Australian Open in 1990. Lendl’s one of the greatest achievements is to play in a Grand Slam final for 11 consecutive years.
