Famous Tennis Player OnnyParun
The popular Croatian tennis player OnnyParun was born on April 15th 1947. Actually he belonged to the New Zealand and Parun was born in Wellington, which is a popular city of New Zealand. But after moving from his native country he started playing tennis for the Croatia and he started his professional career as a tennis player in 1969. Consecutively, he reached the quarter finals at the Wimbledon in the years of 1971 and 1972 respectively. At 1973, OnnyParun also reached the final of the Australian open, but unfortunately he was badly defeated by the Australian tennis player John Newcombe in the four sets. Parun qualified in the quarter finals of the US Open in 1973 and he was also the quarterfinalist of the 1975’s French Open.
One of the biggest achievements of Parun’s career is doubles title of French Open. He won this title in 1974 and his team mate was Dick Crealy who as the Australian tennis player. In 1974, Parun made the master; he qualified for this finishing in the top eight players on the table of the grand prix. From the years of 1966 to 1982, he played the Davis cup and at that time he won a string of major national titles including Benson and Hedge Open. OnnyParun won this title for the three times in four years, which was really a very big achievement. As a professional tennis player he reached the highest ranking of world no. 19 on March 5, 1975.
