Famous Tennis Player Mary Pierce

Mary Pierce

Mary Pierce was born in 1975. She started playing tennis from childhood, thanks to her father’s continued encouragement. She was a talented kid and she successfully transformed into a talented tennis player with her parents prodding. However, her father became abusive with time as he invested his every asset to assure Mary Pierce could be successful.

She debuted at the age of 14, a record at that time which was broken later by Jennifer Capriati. However, Mary was unable to leave any impact on the tennis world in her early years despite being highly talented. It wasn’t until 1994 that she picked up her pace and cracked up in top ten. French players hadn’t won anything major since 1967 but Mary Pierce took the oath to end this draught. She was an immense success at Australian Open in 1995. She also won Roland Garros in 2000 to bring the title back to the hosts after years of wait.

Famous Tennis Player Mary Pierce won four titles at Grand Slam, which includes two singles and two doubles. She reached the final for singles six times in a Grand Slam. She is remembered as one of the most talented tennis players of her time.  She was especially good at clay surface.
