Johan Kriek

South African Tennis player Johan Kriek was born on 5 April 1958 in Pongola, South Africa. He is South African-American professional tennis player. He turned professional in 1978. He retired from tennis in 1994.  Throughout his life he played as a Right-handed (1-handed backhand) tennis player. He won career prize money of $2,383,794. He made a remarkable record of winning two consecutive titles of Grand Slam singles Australian Open in the year 1981 and 1982. Apart from these, His remarkable and most memorable victories include the ones in which he defeated Andre Agassi, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, and Björn Borg.

Johan won 14 professional singles in his life in Sarasota USA in 1979, Mexico in 1981, Newport US in 1981, Australian open Melbourne in 1981 and Memphis Unites States in 1982. He also singles in La Costa WCT U.S in 1982, Tampa U.S in 1983, Bristol England in 1983 and 1984, ATP Johannesburg South Africa in 1983, Livingston U.S in 1984 and 1987 and Las Vegas in 1985. With all these victories, he attained a career-high singles ranking of World Number 7 on 10 September 1984.  He won eight professional doubles in his career in Richmond WCT (U.S), Stowe (U.S), and Forest Hills WCT (U.S), la Costa WCT (U.S), Chicago (U.S), Philadelphia (U.S) and Tokyo Outdoor (Japan). Hence, he got the world’s highest-ranking number twelve in doubles on 15 August 1958. In addition to all these, he was a runner-up in many championships held in United States, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, Melbourne, England, Australia and Sweden.
