Steffi Graf, from Germany, is a former number one female player. She is a legendary player and started playing at the early age of three. She was unstoppable in her career and is considered the best woman player in the world. She was able to conquer all the different courts on her way to glory, setting multiple unbeatable records.
She has won the four Grand’s not only two or three times, but a staggering four times. Very few people have been able to achieve this. She has been successful on all the various court surfaces. Many people have been unable to attain this glory. The four Grand Slam titles were achieved in two decades. Each decade she won the tournament twice. She is the only individual tennis player to secure the Golden Grand Slam. This means that she won the grand slam (all four majors as well as the Olympic gold medal in the same year).
She was also able to maintain her number 1 ranking for 377 weeks which included an unbeaten run of 186 weeks. This is a record for both men and women.
